The use of membranes and vapour control layers as the primary barrier to airloss in a roof is becoming increasingly common. Unfortunately some of the existing adhesive tape methods have been found to perform poorly under air pressure testing conditions with the consequent effect on the overall air leakage performance. Fastight Membrane Adhesive is a high performance adhesive specifically developed to seal lap and side joints between sections of roofing membrane. Typical situations where Fastight Membrane Adhesive can be used are as follows: (1) End laps between overlapping sections of membranes (2) Side laps between overlapping sections of membranes (3) Ensuring an adequate bond between edges of membranes and flashings, steel members or other components of the building Fastight Membrane Adhesive exhibits excellent adhesion to the full range of building materials without the need for priming. Fastight Membrane Adhesive has been independently tested for airtightness by Building Analysis and Testing – a UKAS accredited test facility and was found to provide an excellent barrier to the passage of air withstanding pressures of up to 60Pa.
